In this painting “Melting Slowly”I have captured that early spring moment when the sun starts to soften the ice, and you hear the quiet sound of it cracking, mixing with sea waves and birdsong. I was walking along the shore of Baltic Sea, just watching how water moved, how it reflected light, how it felt, and I brought that feeling into this piece.
The first layers of paint were applied using a lot of water, letting it move freely on the canvas to create its own shapes and traces. The texture, contrast, and details were added slowly, letting the painting build itself over time.
This original abstract painting is made with acrylic on stretched cotton canvas, size 40×40 cm.
