The sand used in this painting was personally collected by me from my favourite beaches along the Baltic coast of Latvia.
Natural sand texture, earthy colours and simple geometric forms create a calm, tactile composition. The subtle imperfections of the material are left visible, giving the artwork an organic, almost raw quality.
Sable is the French word for “sand”, continuing the concept of the Language of Sand series, where each artwork is titled with the word “sand” in a different language.
There is something grounding about bringing natural materials into our living spaces. Their texture, warmth and imperfection soften a space, making it feel more connected to nature and alive.
SABLE brings this sense of simplicity and quiet balance into your space.
